A MESSAGE FROM SCOTT DOLFAY (organizer):
I'm currently organizing volunteers to work on a neighborhood pond as a our home church project. We will be "sheet mulching" certain areas to prepare for a much larger event this October. That event will involve 3 local school's children as well as neighbor volunteers and trained docents to educate the kids. The mulching we do now will allow for the planting of native plants for the later fall event. Today I made a simple notice and went around to 20 homes near the pond informing them of this. One said he will see if his family can match the $2500 grant I currently have for the fall. The date is Saturday May 20th, 10 am to 2 pm. There is a gate that I will have opened. There is plenty of parking. If you have it bring: work clothes, gloves, shovels, rakes, gas engine grass trimmer, drinking water. Scott can provide some of these as well. Scott Dolfay 206-724-1417 cell |
