Dear Friends of WFWP USA,
We would like to ask for your financial support as Julia Granstrom will represent WA State WFWP at the United Nations' March 2015 WFWP/UN event, in New York City.
As some of you know, WFWP will soon take part in the 59th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, which will convene in and around the UN HQ in NYC, March 9-20, 2015. The theme is: “Beijing+20: The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.”
Julia Granstrom will attend the United Nations' 2 week session, including:
1) WFWPI's parallel event which will take place on day one.
The WFWP theme is “Young Women and Leadership: Education, Opportunities and Obstacles.” Co-sponsors of this event include the World Youth Alliance, Montage Initiative, and Women’s Federation for World Peace USA. It will feature a panel of primarily young women leaders who will address this topic.
2) On the following day, Julia will attend the annual WFWPI Luncheon. Its theme is “A Celebration of CSW 59 and International Women’s Day.” Dr. Rima Sallah, who was recently appointed to the High Panel on Peace Operations by UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, has been invited to speak. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Yeon Ah Moon, President, WFWP International, and Mrs. Carolyn Handschin, Director, WFWPI UN Office.
Julia has created homemade Chai tea for you as a gift for your kindness.
